I know Baruch Lanner and this letter from the RCA is vicious Loshon Horah. His conviction was a total fraud and lie. That is not to say that his behavior was always stellar with his students. He often played rough and tumble that was his style. Some students took it for what it was, horse play, others saw it differently. We live in a sissy generation, but Baruch should have taken that into consideration. The overwhelming percentage of his students felt they gained a lot from him, and very few, usually the ones that failed academically resented him.
As for his conviction, two girls brought charges against him, one was thrown out since the Court saw she was totally not credible. The one who did testify could only say definitively that he put his arm around her. That’s a sex offender. Baruch was offered a plea deal in which he would serve NO time, but his rabbi (unnamed) told him if he holds the allegations are sheker, which he did, then he can’t take a plea deal… terrible advice.
So stop spreading Loshon Hora and stop believing Loshon Hora. These YO YOs from the RCA think you can believe in goyim… they are full of shkorim, it was all political.
This letter is contrary to Halacha. See Talmud Malkos where a Killer is granted a new judgment in a court in Israel, if he ran away from the diaspora.
