JERUSALEM (VINnews) — After 115 days have passed with no sign of Moishy Kleinerman, Moishy’s parents met on Monday with the family of another missing person, Moshe Ilowitz, who disappeared three years ago. Ilowitz, a 37-year-old father of 5 from Mevo Modiin, disappeared from Meron on the eve of Lag Ba’omer in 2019 and has not been seen since- similar to Kleinerman.

Moshe Ilowitz’s wife requests public’s help in finding her missing husband

In the wake of the huge police search for Moishy Kleinerman in the past two weeks, police have stepped up their efforts to find Ilowitz, since the two disappeared in the same locale.

The two families met at a Jerusalem hotel where Ilowitz’s parents, who heard about the disappearance of Kleinerman, had come from abroad to help with the search and to meet the parents of Moishy Kleinerman.

Giti Kleinerman, the mother of Moishy, said at the meeting that “there are so many similar aspects- both of them are called Moshe, both of them disappeared at Meron. Maybe it will happen again and again because it wasn’t properly investigated. We have to learn what happened with Ilowitz, we need to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. Who is the next mother who will suffer the same suffering?

The two sets of parents agreed to coordinate efforts and to send an independent team to search Mount Meron. They agreed to cooperate on all aspects of the disappearance. Eli Ilowitz, father of Moshe Ilowitz, said that “police have hardly done anything, I went to them and they had nothing to tell me.”

Heart goes out for both families. Difference is where one is an adult the law limits what can be done if the invidual is intentionally hiding or decided to take on a new identity.
With sincere intentions, I would recommend parents to come out publicly about Moishes personality. Very likely that someone can then lead them on any likelihood of what such a kid might have taken.
We should all continue to daven for משה בן גיטל

Meron is dangerous, especially around Lag Ba’omer (even before the death of forty-five there less than two years ago). The hefkerus there is shreklech (frightening). There is good reason why גדולי ישראל have warned against going there, and have stayed away themselves.

People need to ignore the advertising and media hype, follow the real gedolim, and resist the urge to run there.
