JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Two years after the death of the Sadigora Rebbe and after many months of dispute and discussion over his will, the Bnei Brak Beis Din headed by Rabbi Sariel Rosenberg has ruled that only the rebbe in Bnei Brak, who is the younger son of the rebbe, can use the name ‘Sadigura’.

Currently the rebbe’s two older brothers, Rabbi Mordechai Shalom Yosef and Rabbi Aharon Dov Ber, are known as the Admorim of Sadigura-Jerusalem and Sadigura-London. However  a letter signed by Rabbi Rosenberg as well as Rabbi Yehuda Silman, Rabbi Yaakov Farbstein, Rabbi Meir Heisler and Rabbi Mendel Shafran states that “in the previous rebbe’s will which was ratified in Beis Din it is stated that he appoints his son Rabbi Yitzchak Yehoshua Heshel as his successor and heir to the RUzhin-Sadigura chasidic group and that he will head all the institutions worldwide which bear the name Sadigura or Ruzhin-Sadigura.

“Since you (the other brothers) are raising funds in the name of Sadigura or Ruzhin-Sadigura and using the symbols used by the previous rebbe’s institutions in contravention of the will, and this leads to deceptive transfers of funds which should reach these institutions and now reach other places which are not under the authority of the heir mentioned in the will, and this causes damage to those institutions, we are therefore issuing a temporary injunction.

According to this injunction, besides Rabbi Yitzchak Yehoshua Heshel Friedman and his kehilla which is under his sole supervision, no other man, body or institution can use the name Sadigura or Ruzhin-Sadigura or to raise funds under these names, and it is forbidden to use the symbols which served the institutions under the previous Admor.

מכתב בית הדין

The Rabbis concluded by stating that the injunction will be valid “until a discussion and mutually accepted decision regarding all of the issues remaining between the sons of the previous Admor zts’l.

The funny thing is, that once they start fighting with each other, people start giving more money.
I say that they should all undergo a Farherr in Shas U’Poskim, and whoever gets the highest mark becomes Rebbe.
You see, today there is no longer the excuse that, “He is a Ehrliche Yid but he couldn’t learn because of World War II”.

In all fairness replace the name sadigur , with a name that you are affiliated with , rosh yeshiva. Rav kehila…and a very clear tzavah …but one that deviates from the norms..is extreme…wud you be so strong to just walk away…these are challenges that effect a segment of the tzibur. And it’s easy to poke fun when you have no horse in the race

Chabad & Breslov found a better solution:- Zero living Rebbes contesting for the position, so no-one fighting about their Kovod & prestige

And why exactly are they fighting for some name of a Goyishe town in somewhere in Ukraine named so by some long forgotten anti-Semites?

Is it worth spending time, effor and thousands on din Torah for these narishkeiten? isn’t it Bittul Torah? its silly, Vane, Banal, childish… something only Rebbes have time for….

the man is a in a pickle. His fathers wish was that it be him and he is lloing to fulfill his fathers tzavah. But his mother doesn’t want. I think he should wait a few years as he has a while lofe ahead of him and can still fulfill his fathers wishes later. But thats not easy

The questions is if the father had a right to the name Sadigura at all. Whoever knows some Sadigerer history, knows the answer.

Using a symbol is one thing. But using the name of a city, how can someone be banned from it.

Even in the Bobuv Din Torah, one side was only required to add to their name, after receiving a large sum as compensation and a פשרה.

The issue of fundraising of a name, is only if you believe that a sizable portion of the donations come from people who don’t know what’s going on, for me it’s hard to believe.

The question is if the father and up above were balabatim on the name “Sadigura”. If you do not know what i am talking about, do not even try to argue

How is there a temporary pesak being noteh to one tzad without hearing both sides unbiasedly.
These types of pesakim undermines the credibility of the sanctuary of a bais din as they unfortunately cause a great deal of confusion and mistrust!
