This isn’t about the hospital and it’s services. This is about a group of wealthy opportunist wanting to take it over for its real estate value nursring home and rehab center

he dissed on Simcha Felder “reb Simche uber abisel seichel meg men hubben”

that was totally unnecessary and childish, you disagree with Simcha just say so no need to hurl insults. not right.

I really don’t know the real intensions of this whole bruhaha.

But I do know this:
From as a small child and it goes back a long time I always heard horror stories about Maimonides hospital. It is shameful that such a huge large community in Brooklyn Frum Yidden are not part of the Hospital. In fact they should be the majority on the board. It is beyond understanding why it isn’t so. This shows something is really bad about our loud mouth so called Askonim.

No.
He should have kept away from personal insults. That spoiled everything he said.

This is an anti-Maimonides campaign named to “save” it, while the real intentions are to bring the leadership to its knees to change.
Bottom line – its a business. They do what makes them money. They have very little incentive other than that.

Your headline refers to the speaker as “Rabbi”. Where, and from whom, did the speaker get semicha from?

Blah, blah, blah. I had worse at NYU and MSKCC. Nyu had 2 doctors examining my spouse at once without saying that the student doctor would be examining. Mskcc told us we would never have children if we didn’t follow them exactly. Well guess what sloan wanted to treat in a method the field disagreed with completely. No other center would treat with the protocol they suggested. Further, we were told it was experimental at best. I have been to maimonides over the years hundreds of times with grandparents a’h, parents iy’h to 120, siblings, spouce, children and friends. The range of experiences are from terrible to fantastic. It all depended on multiple factors. I’ve been to Manhattan hospitals with the spectrum of people and haven’t found them to be any better. BTW Rav Belsky Zatzal started in sloan. When they decided it was enough treatment and time to give up and die, he transferred to Maimonides and received continued treatment for quite some time. All hospitals have issues. If you think you can do better go start your own facility instead of blaming others. You wouldn’t be able to meet even euthanasian clinic standards.

Im not a maimo fan or to impressed with any n.y hospital but whoever thinks this fight is LESHAME SHOMAYIM and not about money and power go buy the brooklyn BRIDGE, the frum players in this battle should be praised for all the chesed and tzedeka and learning they have done but I dont think anyone can say they are on a very high moral, ethics spirtual , tzadik level involving MONEY MATTERS, they are very shrewed gutsy and willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want.Lets realize that they didnt build their fortune by being nice guys AND LIKE MANY OF US IN THE FRUM COMMUNITY we are so frum strict with so many areas of HALACHA but when it comes to money and business ethics we start justifying rationalizing ALL THE CHESED TZEDEKA we already did and Hashem loves us and were for sure getting olam habba AND THEREFORE WE CAN BE AS GREY lenient AS possible WITH HALACHIC MONEY MATTERS, and lying, stealing, not paying middlemen commissions, LIFNIM MESHORAS HADIN and pashora dosent exist in our frum community when it comes to money NO CHUMRAS WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY LOL.

There is an old expression about lies,.., and statistics.

Polls and statistics can be manipulated, and don’t always give the whole picture.

I think there is definitely much room for improvement at Maimonides but one poll doesn’t necessarily give the whole story.

I don’t know David Lichtenstein but odd that a person who has donated what must amount to tens of millions, if not more, to support the Jewish community in various hospitals (e.g. Friendship House) is someone many of you are so quick, based on pure speculation, to suggest he is doing this to make money.

Also, I have seen first hand how Maimonides is understaffed and has an insufficient nurse to patient ratio across multiple departments. It is inevitable that the standard of care will suffer when there is insufficient staffing. Frankly, the nurses and doctors there are great but they can’t give proper care when they are understaffed. I have seen in other hospitals in NYC that they have better nurse to patient ratios and as a result you don’t get the number of outrageous stories happening. When I say outrageous, I mean things like patients losing their vitals because a drug or vent is not adjusted in time which is almost always the result of understaffing.

Jewish Hospitals started because jews that care wanted yidn to be taken care as opposed to all the problems happening at other facilities.
Maimonides even though started as a jewish hospital with the above reason, it become like the others.
I hope this campaign has in mind to get the jewish heart in and the corporate profit oriented heartless aspect of it out.
That’s in simple words what’s needed.
It should include a good hechsher for its food, for example they are allowed to have 2 separate or 3 dishwasher machines for dairy meat and pareve instead of 1 being “koshered” every day going back and forth from dairy to meat etc.
It’s very important they should have an independent kosher supervision as well.
Easy to understand that that’s part of not caring enough.

I watched his speech , intellectually dis honest, kept saying 157…157..I went on to us news hospital ratings and healthgrades..miamo. was far from worst hosp. Last place in many specialties better than most brooklyn hosp. of course improvement needed and is not a Manhatten hospital.
Lastly david is worth a “B” ..not sure if he really ponies up compared to other frum gevirim or easier to make headlines with ten reasons why not to give
