JERUSALEM (VINnews) — An Arab shop owner in the Old City was indicted on Sunday for violently assaulting an American tourist.

The beating took place a week earlier, following a dispute over the cost of an ice cream cone. The incident happened August 19, when the store owner smashed a glass cup into the head of the tourist, a man in his 50s.
According to reports, the attacker tried to flee from the police. His business was shut down for eight days, and he remains in police detention.
The victim suffered lacerations to his head.
