JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The chasidic court of Zvhil was plunged into mourning after the Admor, Rabbi Shlomo Goldman, died suddenly Monday night at the age of 66. Rabbi Goldman collapsed at his home on Yechezkel street in Jerusalem and, despite prolonged efforts to resuscitate him, passed away a short time later.

The chasidim gathered outside the rebbe’s home and in the Beis Midrash to say Tehillim but the rebbe passed away soon afterwards.
The rebbe, named for his illustrious ancester R’Shlomke of Zvhil, was a son of Rabbi Avrohom Goldman, the previous rebbe who passed away 12 years ago. He served as a mashgiach (spiritual guide) at the Ruzhin yeshiva for many years before becoming Admor.
The rebbe had studied at the Slonim yeshiva in his youth and married the daughter of the Makover rebbe. During his tenure as Admor he was concerned with each and every one of his chasidim and worked to maintain the numerous institutions of the chasidic group, including kollelim, yeshivos, Talmud Torah’s and batei midrash.
The rebbe used to go to Meron every year for Lag Ba’Omer, but this year he was unable to reach Meron on that date and came a few days later to celebrate with the children who had a ‘chalakah’ [first haircut]. The rebbe used to conduct a ’tish’ [gathering at his table] on many occasions and spoke Divrei Torah, which were transcribed as Dibros Kodesh.
The rebbe is survived by his sons Rabbi Moshe Nosson Nota and Rabbi Yaakov Leib as well as many son-in-laws and grandchildren following in his path. The Levaya took place Monday night at 11 PM and the rebbe was buried in the family plot on Har Hazeisim.
May his memory be blessed.
