WILLIAMSBURG (VINnews) — A Jewish man was viciously assaulted on Tuesday morning during a dispute over a parking spot.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 AM at the intersection of Division Avenue and Driggs Avenue in Williamsburg.
Video footage shows an irate man confronting the victim while yelling at him about the parking spot. The aggressor appears to be a relative of a driver who alleged that their spot was taken by the victim.
After yelling at him, the attacker lunges toward the victim in a threatening manner, and then punches him in the face, knocking the victim’s hat off and causing him to stumble away.
At the time of the assault, the victim was on his phone and was not threating the attacker in any way.
The attacker continued to yell at the victim after the assault, saying that he will “come and find him.”
Hatzalah and Williamsburg Shomrim responded to the scene. The victim required stitches from the brutal assault.
Police are searching for the attacker, who fled the scene on a bicycle, and are not investigating the incident as a hate crime at this time.
Dov Hikind tweeted about the incident, and decried the fact that while there were other Jews present at the time of the attack, nobody intervened.
“That violent antisemites are acting with impunity in NYC is sadly to be expected,” wrote Hikind. “But it’s especially painful to see an attack on a Jew in which other Jews are literally just standing around, watching & barely reacting! Jewish law requires self-defense!”

Six 200lbs Jewish guys and one 120lbs street-thug attacks one of them, and the Jewish guys just stand there staring like a bunch of dumb cows and don’t even attempt to defend a fellow Jew. Not sure if this case was caused by antisemitism or simply by typical New York animalistic behavior — that is irrelevant — the attacker should have been beaten enough to make him think twice before escalating a verbal argument into a physical one.

Mr. Hikind HELLO it’s 2022 The cops are scared to intervene So a civilian should do what? Get arrested if he touches him.

While ideally they should fight back, this ended with one person punched in the face and nothing worse. The guys cousin is next to him and if they fight the aggressor they might just end up with a pissed off family member with a knife or worse trying to free him.

Also, the strike of the attacker seemed like a glancing blow, almost like a slap, designed to humiliate, rather than to cause significant damage. It was not like he punched him straight in the nose full-force.
