MANHATTAN (VINnews) — Former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, who for years helped keep crime levels at record lows, blasted Mayor Eric Adams during a radio interview Sunday.

Kelly accused the woke mayor of dropping the ball on rampant crime in NYC.

“We were the safest big city in America just a few years ago,” Kelly said on WABC radio’s “Cats Roundtable” hosted by John Catsimatidis.

He also ridiculed Adams, saying, “This isn’t brain surgery. You go back and look at the things we were doing then and you re-implement them. But apparently, the mayor doesn’t want to do this. He doesn’t want to [bring back] anti-crime units, he doesn’t want to use stop and frisk.”

This past weekend, Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a new plan to flood the subways with more cops through overtime shifts, as well as additional surveillance cameras.

However it may be too little too late. New York City subway crime has run rampant this year, with nine subway system homicides and a 39% jump in violent crime as of August compared to 2019, according to the NY Post.

Both the mayor and governor have ignored surging crime rates in the subways (and everywhere else), which are worse than they have been in decades.

Now, less than 3 weeks before the election, it is clear that this announcement is purely political. As her poll numbers keep tanking, most believe that Hochul does not care about crime, she just wants to win, as Lee Zeldin’s numbers continue to surge.

Kelly addressed rampant subway crime during the interview, saying, “Every day you read about a crime in the transit system, and it just reinforces the notion that it’s too dangerous to travel on the subway.”

“I think they need a fresh look at the transit system because we know the subways are the lifeblood of New York,” he said. “People are still not going to get on them.”

Kelly served as police commissioner in the early 1990s under Rudy Giuliani before moving on to several federal posts under President Bill Clinton. He returned to the position under Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Apparently Mr. Kelly did not read the narrative. One is not allowed to criticize our first affermative action Mayor, because he’s a black. Anyone criticizing Eric Adams IS A RACIST!!! The reason for this alleged crime wave is because of WHITE supremacy!
