Flight From Moldova To Israel Cancelled, 150 Stranded, Forcibly Removed From Terminal After Airline Error

JERUSALEM (ISRAEL) — Some 150 passengers who were supposed to be on a flight from Kishinev, Moldova to Israel claim that due to a mistake by the flight company, an entire group of Jews were taken off their plane and the flight was cancelled. The reason for the cancellation was apparently the fact that two people with similar names were registered for the flight.

The Air Moldova company allegedly mistakenly registered both travellers as one person. All passengers boarded the plane and one person remained without a seat, leading to angry arguments with flight staff over the seating arrangements. At this point the pilot said that he was leaving and cancelling the entire flight.

All the passengers who had boarded, most of whom are returning from Uman,  were forced to leave the plane, taken back to the terminal and ordered to leave the terminal. When they sat down and refused to budge, demanding another flight to take them to their destination, local police intervened and started to forcibly remove them from the terminal. When passengers tried to document the police, the policemen jumped on them and confiscated their phones.

A passenger said that “they’re treating us like dogs, police used electric shockers on one person, I don’t have pictures because whoever takes out a phone is jumped by policemen. They are physically evicting us from the terminal.”

The next flight to Israel is due only in two days time and in the meantime the passengers are stranded.

The flight company has not yet responded to the incident.

Why is anyone surprised?

Stay out of Europe. We aren’t welcomed there. Period.

Sue the airline and the airport. It worked against Lufthansa.

It’s time that people stop romanticizing the old shtetl and life of Eastern Europe. Europe is a big anti Semitic cesspool. Instead of going to the old country for ruchnius, stay in Israel, the real source of Jewish ruchnius. Go to the Kotel, go to Miron, or any of the hundreds of mekomos tefilla in our Eretz Hakodesh.

Somehow I doubt that anyone will be getting $20,000 (or even 20,000 rubles) as compensation.

no this is not Israel where you can spit on police officers and call them Nazis

just saying…

not that the Moldovan authorities are right here, they are not. but I question the behavior of these “uman” travelers. I’ve seen how they behave when they travel, have you?

when a Yid doesnt make Kiddush, a Goy makes havdala. We take our freedoms for granted and expect others to treat us well. Lets not forget when dealing with Goyim that we are required to make a kiddush Hashem.
We are in His hands, and should look inwards when these stories happen…
