JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Two people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in rolling a burning dumpster down Yechezkel street during a demonstration before Chanukah. The dumpster slammed into 40-year-old Mirel Daslowski, a member of the Karlin chasidic group, seriously injuring her.

During the past days there has been an improvement in her condition. The Shaare Tzedek hospital reported that “the patient woke up from her sedation and is communicating with her surroundings. Despite this she is still termed in serious condition and requires respiration.” Mirel’s family requested to continue praying for Mirel Bas Rachel Leah.
Daslowski, a mother of 11 including an 8-month-old baby and a school educator by profession, was returning from purchasing fruits and vegetables for Shabbos together with her daughter when she was hit by the dumpster which had been rolled down Yechezkel street by extremist demonstrators.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Sunday who is suspected of rolling the dumpster down the street. The youth was remanded in custody until next Monday. A second suspect was arrested on Tuesday in the city of Elad and will be remanded in custody on Wednesday.
