The dead soldier was named as 19-year-old Corporal Baruch Kabarata from Petah Tikva.

The soldier was a member of the Erez army police unit in charge of checkpoints. The unit was also recently manning the Shuafat checkpoint and a member of the unit, Noa Lazar HyD, was murdered by a terrorist at that checkpoint last October.

The IDF spokesman reported that “after resuscitation efforts, the soldier was declared dead at the scene. His family have been notified. Army police continue to investigate the incident and will transfer their findings to the IDF’s legal department. The IDF shares in the sorrow of the family and will continue to accompany them.”
