Yossi Gestetner Unloads on Ben Shapiro Over ‘Loser Mindset’

MONSEY (Yaakov M / VINnews) — Yossi Gestetner has engaged in a days-long Twitter rant, defending the “Brigade” of conservative holdouts who refused to support Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker.

The Chassidic political commentator also blasted Ben Shapiro, Bill O’Reilly and other pundits, whom Gestetner insinuated are “losers” who cave into the establishment and are afraid to fight. In addition, Gestetner has been retweeting older posts in which he criticized Shapiro’s willingness to quickly accept fake media narratives despite a lack of evidence, which are later debunked.

Over the past week, Gestetner has been highly supportive of the holdouts, even suggesting that they conceded to McCarthy too prematurely.

On Motzei Shabbos, referencing Bill O’Reilly, he tweeted: “Former Conservative Hero on Fox’s evening line up is criticizing the Brigade just as Shapiro and many other known conservatives did because Stockholm Syndrome Suffering losers are Conservatives. Cons just like to whine. They don’t want a battle; sure not actual wins.”

On Friday Gestetner blasted Shapiro over what he called a “loser mindset”, ducking away from issues in which conservatives have a winning argument.

He wrote: “The Ben Shapiro who tweeted in 2022 how/why Republicans need to run from multiple issues (including inflation!!!), kept yelling against the Speaker Revolt. It’s a loser mindset. Losers are Conservatives. Which is why the 14 House Freedom Caucus members flipped after 72 hours.”

Yossi makes a strong argument. In 2022, with Americans struggling to afford gas and basic groceries, the inflation issue alone should have been enough to create a massive red wave. Rather than pound away at Biden and other Democrats, some conservatives appeared to be avoiding these debates.

That allowed Democrats to focus on Trump, abortion and January 6th.

Gestetner has also been retweeting old posts in which he was critical of Shapiro over believing media narratives such as Covid misinformation, as well as the Brett Kavanaugh accuser.

This past October, he tweeted a link to an article in which Shapiro is quoted saying he was deceived about the effectiveness of the Covid vaccine.

In a scathing response, Gestetner sarcastically wrote: “Once again this genius bought and sold media narratives just as he did against Kavanaugh and also regarding the #BidenRaidOnTrump: After advocating for COVID-19 vaccination for over a year, Ben Shapiro says he was deceived: “We were lied to by everyone.””

He added, “I don’t understand @benshapiro’s claim of being duped by media about COVID: Many of the things that he sees now and/or what media/CDC acknowledge now were credibly claimed by sane people early on BACKED BY AVAILABLE DATA, yet he dismissed them all and agreed with media; AGAIN.”

I’m sure this guy has some valid points but he is misquoting Shapiro. Shapiro never said he was misled by the media he said the vaccine companies used misleading data.
There’s so much to say and I am certainly not an expert. I’m sure someone will curse me out for saying this as well but the red wave never came BECAUSE of the crazy people on the right who trump pushed. Also, gestetners tweets are bordering on incoherent and grammatically horrific.
Whatever.

Sorry. Gestetner vs. Shapiro would end before it started. Shapiro is light years ahead. For one: McCarthy is more conservative than his detractors. Check the record. Secondly, when you toss out the word “establishment” you are showing a lack of anything intelligent to say. Shapiro is more anti establishment than Gestetner. My suggestion: listen to his podcasts. People like picking fights with him because he’s the big guy, but try to be accurate once in a while.

Blaming conservatives for Republican’s failure to garner more votes is ridiculous. I believe at this point there are more liberals and they elect crazy politicians and the elections are rigged as well so how can you blame someone for voicing their conservative opinions? And I didn’t agree with Shapiro on his opinion of the covid poison shot but he was saying everyone should have a choice whether to take it or not, so how could Gestetner bash that-this was Shapiro’s choice and he didn’t force it on anyone. This Shapiro bashing-a Jew bashing another Jew over their conservative views is absolutely cringe and I believe totally against halacha.

I like Gestetner. He’s tough; he doesn’t pull shtick; he talks with seichel. He speaks for the frum community not Ben Shapiro.
