REPORT: Twice As Many Chareidi Children Die In Home-Related Accidents Compared To Other Israeli Children

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a worrying demonstration of the dangers for children in the Israeli chareidi community, the Beterem organization for child home safety reported that 101 children were killed during 2022 in various home-related accidents, of which 26 were from the chareidi community.

The data showed that the danger factor for a chareidi child under 15 is twice as high as those who are not chareidi. However in the age group of 15-17, secular children were at higher risk, due to the longer study hours of chareidi children and their lack of dangerous activities.

In 2021, 117 children were killed in such accidents, with 30 from the chareidi community. However these data include 11 of those killed in Meron, with 6 in the 10-14 category and another five aged 15-17.

The predominant risk factors in 2022 were traffic accidents (31%) drowning (16%) and choking (12%).

The director of Beterem (which means “prior”, or “prevention before”), Orli Zilbinger, said that “the chareidi community has unique characteristics affecting the level of danger, including the fact that in large families parents attention must be divided between all of the children. The cramped living conditions can affect the number of accidents as well as the economic situation which is a risk factor.

“At the same time chareidi society has characteristics which encourage maintaining child safety, such as the communal structure and willingness to help others, as well as the emphasis on study which protects children from dangerous behavior. Moreover chareidim are willing to listen to community leaders and to safety recommendations more than others.”

Zilbinger said that in the new government there is a significant body of chareidi representatives and they can “lead a revolution in relating to chareidi child safety, raise the subject in government committees and raise funds to work to save lives. He who saves a life is as if he saved a world.”

We should take heed & get the message out about what’s causing these issues & how how we can minimize them. But it’s easier to just cry “Anti-Charedi agenda” & leave things as they are.

The obvious question is what percentage of children in Israel are chareidi.

there is no question that the roads in e”y have too much blood rachmono litzlan .. when a large percent of charedim dont even own a car / maybe they lack the driving experience or culture on the road

This should not be surprising news. Interestingly, the same statistics of accidents (or shall we say, very preventable incidents) applies to the black community as well, for many of the same reasons mentioned here. Oh and BTW, It would help if someone would finish hooking up that sink so you could flush all those chemicals out of the kid that drinks it.

Good question- will the new Israeli gov’t look to protect Charedi or will it allow Meron-type riots to happen?

Why do they put flouride in the drinking water in Israel? It’s full of aluminum. Very dangerous.

ANOTHER INACCURATE STAT

Charedi families have alot more than twice as many children, than non-Charedi…

Take that into account and this survey clearly holds no water.

Statistically, this is encouraging news since Charedi families have more than twice as many children as secular ones.

Apples to apples, how the crop the study to fit the narrative, old tactic. Selecting certain age groups, certain places just so it mkaes the cut. I can make astudy extaly in the reverse order.

How much more likely is a securlar youth to be use drugs than chreidi, how much likely is a secular person to divorce etc etc etc…

Fake data, they have 4 times the amount of kids as non chraredi. So they are actually dying at half the rate.

Obviously we all want zero deaths and any outreach is welcomed. However comparing a religious family of 10 children ke”h to a secular family of two children is like saying California has more traffic accidents then Delaware.

You need to exclude the 11 kids from Meron as thats an outlier event and statsiclly not acceptable. That brings down the stats by a 1/3
