In the village of Ara in northern Israel, his family is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors. Meanwhile, police announced that they would work to prevent mass celebrations at the terrorist’s home.

Two weeks ago, Younes’ cousin and partner in crime, Karim Younes, was released and welcomed by mass celebrations which are currently under police investigation.

Ahead of his release from the Ketziot prison, the terrorist released a statement saying: “I expect to meet the Palestinian masses. I wait for the moment that I will be free after years behind bars. I am excited to see the young generation full of values, awareness, and knowledge.”

The National Security Ministry said that “Minister Ben-Gvir ordered police to act with determination and thoroughness against the support of terror and terrorist acts that we saw previously in the village of Ara.

“Following a legal discussion in the minister’s office, all those who participated agreed that waving terrorist flags, calling a terrorist a hero and parading murderers are illegal actions and the police were ordered to prevent them from occurring and to stop any such acts immediately.”

Avraham Bromberg, a 20-year-old tank mechanic from Zichron Yaakov, was returning home from his base in December 1980 when he was attacked by three Arabs. Bromberg fought them back but was shot in the head with a pistol and left in a ditch. He died four days later in hospital. The killers were given life sentences in 1983 but former president Shimon Peres commuted them to forty years in jail.

In the 1982 newspaper clipping pictured above, Avraham’s mother Sarah demanded the death sentence for his murderers, stating that “the terrorists admitted the murder of my son, they sentenced him to death and the government spares their lives.” Forty years later, the same demand for a death sentence for terrorists was on the manifesto of Ben-Gvir’s Jewish Force party prior to the elections, but a bill has not yet been submitted to the Knesset on this issue.

None of this would be necessary if that evil arab were executed 40 years ago, as would have happened in any well-adjusted society.
