The terrorist, a 15-year-old resident of the Askar refugee camp, shot the two men at point-blank range on Tuesday morning, but apparently had a jam in the gun and fled the scene, allegedly going to his school afterward. The minor also posted the attack on his Instagram page, before being arrested by Israeli security forces.

The IDF said in a statement that the suspect had implicated himself in the shooting during his first interrogation, after he was taken to Shin Bet for questioning. There were no injuries in the arrest operation. The weapon used in the attack, a makeshift Carlo submachine gun, was located nearby after the attack.

The two victims in the attack managed to drive to the entrance to the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood, where they were treated by first responders. The two were transferred to hospitals in the capital, where they were said to be in moderate and stable condition.

The son of one of the victims, Moshe Yosef Hass, said his 60-year-old father and the second victim initially thought somebody had thrown rocks at the vehicle.

“He did not understand what happened. He thought they threw two stones at the car, but then they started to feel terrible pain and realized that they were shot,” Menashe Hass told the Ynet news site. “My father is not one of those people who gets involved in security tensions. For years he has prayed every day at the tomb of Shimon Hatzadik”

The son promised that his father would continue to pray at the holy site.

The victims were heading to morning prayers at the tomb, in Sheikh Jarrah.

The neighborhood, parts of which were historically known as Shimon Hatzadik, has become one of Jerusalem’s tensest in recent years, as Jewish representatives of the owners of Nahalat Shimon seek to remove the Arab squatters who have been on the land since the Jordanian period prior to 1967.

How did the 15 year old get to Schem were he was caught? How did he get to his school? How did he get this gun?
IDF is mum, no word on this.
