Black spoke with the group “Combat Antisemitism” about the rise in Jew hatred. He emphasized the need for Jews to respond to antisemitism by being positive and showing our greatness.
He referenced his personal encounters with hate, and said that he tries to take the “high” road.
Black said, “Over the years I have been subject to many antisemitic things…I think it has impacted me to let me know this is a reality. I’m one of those…if you go low I go high.”
He continued, “So my way of computing it is to put more positivity into the world. It’s the easiest equalizer, to put more positivity into the world. I do it through my music…acts of kindness…”
Black said, “We as Jews need to be controlling the narrative. We don’t have to always address everything, I think that can be counterproductive.”
The artist also said, “It’s very important for us to keep shining more light into the world.”
Nissim you are a light! keep up the good work you do! we should take heed to what he says. Its truth that is Chanuka. That is being a Jew. Taking the mundane and turning it into goodness and light.
Would the Heimish velt still support him if he honestly spoke about the Anti-Black racism in the Frum community?
