Rabbi Kamenetzky, who is 98, participated in the levaya of Rabbi Meir Hershkowitz, the Rosh Yeshiva of Stamford, which took place in Lakewood Monday, and later said that he wasn’t feeling well. After he was taken to hospital, doctors discerned that he had suffered a stroke.

Family members stressed that he is in stable condition, alert and responsive but due to his advanced age, the next few hours will be critical for his medical condition.

Please pray for the speedy recovery of the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Shmuel Ben Eta Etil.

During an address to the Torah U’Mesorah president’s conference in December, former president Donald Trump praised the work of Torah U’Mesorah and referred to Rav Shmuel, who serves on the rabbinical board.

“He looks like a young man,” Trump said of Rav Shmuel. “There’s something nice about being a rabbi, I think… They told me your age, and I’m not sure I can believe it.”
