The Gedolim said that people should be very careful not to enter dangerous situations of crowding and close quarters.

Prefacing their words with the proclamation: “May our Tefillos find favor in your eyes at the Hilula of Rabbi Shimon”, the Gedolim called on all those ascending to Meron to be vigilant.

“The spectre of the heavy tragedy which occurred on Lag Ba’Omer 2021 has not left the Hilula in Meron and our eyes are raised in prayer to Hashem, and all of the Jewish nation wherever they are pray and offer supplication that all those coming and going from Meron will be protected from all manner of calamities which tend to occur in the world, will come and go in peace.”

The rabbis call on all those arriving to maintain the regulations, since “the blood of our 45 dear souls cries out to us and arouses us to change our ways and improve the ascent to Meron on Lag Ba’Omer. Every individual must contribute to the effort and accede to regulations which are for the good of the public.

We call on everyone to stay for just five hours, prevent crowding or pushing and listen to the regulations of the ushers.”

The rabbis concluded “May Hashem hear the Tefillos of his nation in mercy and may the merit of Rabbi Shimon the holy Tanna protect all of Israel and may we be speedily redeemed.”
