BROOKLYN (VINnews/Sandy Eller) – Nearly a month after a Borough Park store was hit by an arsonist, the NYPD is releasing a photograph of a suspect in the incident, hoping that the public can help identify the perpetrator.

The incident took place at Appetizing Plus, located on the corner of 48th Street and 18th Avenue, on April 10th shortly before 5:30 PM.
According to police, the man started a fire that caused $1,500 in damage to Appetizing Plus, which is located in an occupied apartment building, fleeing the scene on foot.
Multiple fire engines responded to the scene, with the FDNY reporting that the flames were under control just moments after their arrival. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire and Brooklyn Chaverim reported that their volunteers were on hand to provide assistance at Appetizing Plus later that night.
Police are describing the suspect as a 55 to 58 year old man with a graying beard and a medium build. He was wearing a black short sleeved t-shirt, pants and ski cap and white sneakers at the time of the attack.
