Rockland County Exec Strikes Back as NYC Mayor Brands Him a Racist Anti-Semite

NEW YORK (VINnews/Sandy Eller) – The war of words between Mayor Eric Adams and County Executive Ed Day that erupted over a New York City plan to house asylum seekers in the Lower Hudson Valley escalated today, with the mayor resorting to taking personal potshots this morning at Rockland’s highest ranking official.

“When you look at the county exec Day, I mean this guy has a record of being anti-Semitic, his racist comments, said Adams. “You know his thoughts and how he responded to this, really, he shows a lack of leadership, I thought he was the Texas governor the way he acted.”

Day, who has said on several occasions that his issue with the mayors’ plan stems from a lack of infrastructure to support an influx of asylum seekers, released a statement in response to the insults, mincing no words in his assessment of Adams’ recent behaviors.

“The mayor can call me every name in the book to deflect the reality of this former officer’s clear disregard for our laws,” said Day. “Between his actions underscoring his belief that he is above local and state law, his disregard for state of emergencies in neighboring municipalities, and ongoing deception to the State of New York, Rockland County, and most recently Orange County – which was blindsided Thursday morning after being told by Adams they were holding off with their plan – speaks volumes about the character of Mayor Adams.”

With Rockland County facing a housing crisis, Day pointed to a recent fire in Spring Valley that took the lives of five people, including two children at a May 10th press conference. That tragic event, said Day, is example of the overcrowding that takes place far too often, leaving immigrants – both illegal and undocumented – faced with unsafe living situations.

A temporary restraining order filed against New York City by Rockland County on May 9th alleging that the mayor was attempted to bypass state laws by using a hotel as a homeless shelter was granted this morning, barring the city from housing migrants at any hotel in the county. The Town of Orangeburg, where the hotel where Adams had hoped to house over 300 migrants is located, also won a restraining order of its own against the city.

Leftist have no shame. They will use “racism” and “antisemitism” for literally anything. No Adam’s no one is racist here, we just don’t want your sanctuary city overflow in our neighborhood.

Day is right about this. He has also been right about protecting us from ourselves.
