JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In the wake of the current Israeli budget allocations which provide 13 billion NIS for private coalition initiatives including increased allocations for chareidi institutions, widespread public criticism has been levelled at the government and specifically at chareidi MKs. The opposition claimed that the government was “plundering the public coffers” and “stealing from taxpayers to fund draft-dodgers”

On Tuesday morning, the “Brothers In Arms” organization held a protest outside the home of construction minister Yitzchak Goldknopf in which they made a mock pile of money to protest the budget allocations (in what was perceived by critics as an anti-semitic trope). Protesters also complained that the minister was encouraging “ignorance” in education. The placards quoted Goldknopf who has said in the past that “mathematics doesn’t contribute to the economy” and accused him of raising a “generation of idlers.” The protesters also sang Hatikva during the demonstration.

Despite the opposition claims and the protests against chareidi MKs, a report by Michael Shemesh, the political reporter of the Kan news outlet (and a chareidi himself) revealed Monday evening documents which showed that the previous government of Bennett and Lapid was perfectly willing via finance minister Avigdor Liberman to allocate over 1 billion NIS to chareidi institutions in return for the support of chareidi MKs for the Bennett-Lapid government.
Shemesh later wroter that “what is amazing is that this billion shekels which Liberman and Lapid wanted to give chareidim were not real coalition funds. [funds allocated based on coalition agreements] Nobody demanded that the two chareidi MKs (Eichler and Porush) become part of the coalition and they didn’t need them to attain a majority for the budget.
“The entire goal of the billion shekel transfer was to annoy Bibi (Netanyahu).”
Lapid responded to the report, claiming he “didn’t know of such a document”, while Liberman claimed it was a “mistaken report.”
Schumer still hasn’t condemned Tlaibs Jew hate fest event. Neither has any other elected Democrat.
There is no difference between politicians on the left and politicians on the right. They are all money grubbing scoundrels, pillaging the countries, coffers that are filled by hard-working taxpayers. Mark Twain is alleged to have said “politics is the worlds second oldest profession, very closely related to the first”. This is what we are witnessing right now. Goldknopf in particular has forfeited the moral High-ground.
If these protesters are working people then they have an absolute right to protest. Endless groups have their hands stretched our demanding money from the government, be it Chareidi, college students, artists, etc. And where does the money come from you ask, as if you didn’t know that it’s taken from the working people. The ones with their hands stretched out have no problems forcefully taking money from others. If done privately, it’s called stealing; if done with the government as the middleman, it’s called largess and it becomes kosher.
Where were these brothers in arms when the previous government gave billions to the Arab party?
They were MIA.
As if the left care about morality or consistency
Just wondering how much money support and direction the socialist president is sending to the left. These demonstrations
Look very close to what’s going on here
Anyone see Obama’s and Biden’s hands in it
love the desperation of these secular Zionists who NEVER protest so called Israeli Arabs who use welfare and also dont serve in the IDF, yet they get representation in the knesset and actually support terrorists. This proves these secular atheists Zionists are not about “equality” or “spreading the burden” but rather they hate Torah, learning and yahadus and they see that 1/2 of all children born today are born to anti Zionists either Arabs and or chareidim.
crybaby gets my posts deleted pretty quick, it helps that he is online 24/7, being perennially unemployed has its benefits.
“mathematics doesn’t contribute to the economy”
Secularism does not contribute to being Jewish,
