Levi Aronow appeared on Fox News to discuss the harrowing experience.
When asked if he thought he was going to die, Levi said, “When I was on the floor I actually started reciting a chapter of Psalms because I did not know when that bullet was going to come through my back.”
He explained that he was in the kitchen basement and turned around to see the robbers. One of them said that he had a gun and forced him to the floor, demanding cash.
He said that because the robbers became aggravated that he had no cash, he gave them his debit card with the PIN to deescalate the situation.
The Fox News host praised Levi’s “grace and compassion” for the violent thugs.
After the robbery, Crown Heights Shomrim received the call for help, and they joined NYPD officers in searching for the two masked suspects. Despite a clear description and direction of flight, the two thugs managed to evade officials.
The incident took place around midnight after the store owner had closed up the store and was preparing for Lag B’Omer, where he provided free pizza to many of those celebrating at the post parade fair.
After a harrowing seven minutes, the pair left the store, thankfully without injuring the owner. Since the incident, Shomrim has been providing extra patrols in the area.
