Speaking at a protest rally, Barak said that “We will win, because we have no other land, and we have no other way. We are determined, and we will save the democracy. We are from all sectors of Israeli society: Arabs, Jews, secular, religious, and traditional, we are all one family. The family of the rule of law and democracy. We are in a battle for the soul and the future of Israel. It will not be easy, and it will not be short, but we are fighting as one family for everything that is dear to us, and we will win.”

Barak added that “We are determined, and we will save the democracy. The governmental reform was stopped at the ninetieth minute, by you, by the strength of the protest in the street and the warnings of the pilots and fighters. On the night [Defense Minister Yoav] Gallant was fired, [Israei Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanuyahu folded, and we won the battle. Netanyahu understands that if he tries again to legislate the law of judges and judged, he will meet an iron wall.”

“But we have not yet won the battle,” Barak said. “The ones conducting the reforms have not given up. They have the same goal, just a different method. Netanyahu was and is in need of time, at any cost. In order to pass a budget, to calm the winds at home, to receive an invitation to the White House, and above all, to dissolve and weaken the protest. My conclusion: This is not the time to take a break. We must not err with illusions: We must increase the protest and end the negotiations immediately.”

“To this end, the protest must increase and move to civil rebellion. Nonviolent disobedience. The script for civil rebellion has already been written by Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and others. I call on all Israeli civilians to prepare to act, and when the call comes – answer it. We will fight, and we will not fear anyone or anything.”

In response to Barak’s tirade, the Likud said that “Ehud Barak, the man who according to the Wall Street Journal met over 30 times with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein after his conviction, continues his pathetic attempts to legitimize his obscene actions by instigating fierce incitement and calling for civil disobedience.

“Barak’s incitement will not help people to forget his actions in the locked rooms of Epstein. Nothing can hide his real personality, and this is the person who claims to be the ethical role model of the left.”

Likud MK Nissim Vatouri said that he would submit a complaint to police over Barak’s words. “This man should be behind bars ” Vatouri said.  “In other countries he would be sentenced to hanging, but in a democracy like Israel, he should receive a jail sentence for at least 20 years for sedition.”

Laughable! He knows full well that the current anti democracy protests that he is encouraging are violent and destructive yet he has the gall to invoke Ghandi and King?? Either he’s delusional, a liar, or both.

The enemy from within. Not a very bright person. Once he unleashes violence, it’s only a matter of time until the out of control protesters come after him and his family.

Why won’t Bibi pass it already ? What’s he schleping it out for ? He things he will get more traction? He so won’t. The longer he takes the more time the other side has. And if he is worried because they will yell. Let me say what the lubvitcha Reba said about the un and Damascus in 73 . They will yell anyhow so now they will yell a little louder
