Yeshiva Leaders Present Mayor Adams With Award at Rav Wolfson’s Home (VIDEOS)

BORO PARK (VINnews) — Yeshiva leaders and askanim met with Mayor Eric Adams this week at the home of Rav Moshe Wolfson, a renowned Mashgiach and the Rav of Emunas Yisrael.

The participants expressed to the mayor their immense gratitude as representatives of the orthodox community for his continued support over the years.

At the meeting, Adams was honored with a plaque signed by representatives of more than 50 institutions expressing appreciation for his efforts and deep gratitude for his support of Orthodox Jewish schools.

Rav Wolfson said, “Being that I am not a political personality, I shy away from political involvement. I’m not accustomed to such important high-level guests…Tonight I have made an exception for an exceptional person.”

He continued, “Mayor Adams expends tireless efforts…I especially want to give my deep expression of gratitude for his assistance…especially in aiding our development of our most precious commodity, our dear children. Our children are our future, are G-d’s gift to us, and any help we receive in raising them to be an honor to G-d is greatly appreciated.

“Mr Adams you are obviously a man with a warm heart and generous. You are a tireless leader…I want to thank you for gracing our home with your presence tonight.

“I would like to leave you with my humble blessing, May G-d be with you and protect you may the aura of positivity from your past deeds and from your dreams for the future accompany you through a long healthy life of success and joy at home with your family and your extended family, the city of New York.”

Adams appeared extremely touched. “I’m committed,” he said. “This community, I am not a new friend, I am an old friend.”

He added, “This is what family is and this community understands that. It is unfortunate that those outside your community don’t understand that all you want to do is live in peace, educate your children and be able to provide for your community.”
