MICHIGAN (VINnews) — The city council of the only U.S. city with an all-Muslim legislature voted to ban the display of Pride flags on all city properties.

Now leftist protesters are planning a demonstration against the ban.
The unanimous bill was introduced by Councilman Mohammed Hassan of Hamtramck, Michigan, a city near Detroit.
The resolution states that “the government of the City of Hamtramck does not allow any religious, ethnic, racial, political, or sexual orientation group flags to be flown on the City’s public properties, and that only, the American flag, and the nations’ flags that represent the international character of our City shall be flown.”
Gracie Cadieux is one of the organizers of this coming weekend’s upcoming Pride protest in response to the flag ban.
“We’re not stupid, we can plainly see that we are the target of this,” said Cadieux.
She said the end goal of the protest; “Is to kick off Pride 365, we’re intending for a year of civil disobedience, protest, community engagement, and mutual aid here in Hamtramck.”
Cadieux said she feels the city flag resolution is directly targeted at the LGBTQ+ community so they’re responding with the protest and planning a full year of Pride events.
Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib responded to the criticisms in a statement from Tuesday’s city council meeting.
In the clip Ghalib said, “We are not targeting one group or another, those people who accuse me of hating them, half of my board of commissions are either LGBTQ, or supporters of LGBTQ.”
“We serve everybody equally with no discrimination, but without favoritism,” Ghalib said. “Those people who accused me of hating them, half of my boards and commissions are either LGBTQ, or supporters for LGBTQ. I never fired anybody who belong to the LGBTQ.”
In response Cadieux said, “The mayor’s a liar, the mayor has been on a tirade about the pride flag and only the pride flag.”
“You guys are the ones making problems,” Councilman Hassan told opponents of the proposal. “Please don’t threaten us. … I’m the elected official. … I’m working for the people, what the majority of the people like.”
A Muslim community leader from Dearborn, Michigan, Hassan Aoun, stated, “Pride month, don’t put it down our throats. You can be gay by yourself. … Do not put [the Pride flag] on city property.”
Records show that in 2021 Mayor Ghalib opposed the flying of the pride flag in Hamtramck when it was voted on initially.
Kudos to them for taking such a proper, courageous, and righteous stand. Many across America, of various faiths, stand with them.

Ironically, this is the benefit of the Waqf controlling the Har HaBayis. If it were under Jewish control, the Pride parade people would insist on marching there. The agonizing chillul Hashem that would result would be far worse than שועלים הלכו בו. Under the Waqf, you can be sure that it would never, ever, happen.
Muslims are Muslims. But when it come down to this stupid nonsense of pride garbage they won’t tolerate it.
