As reported on Arutz Sheva, the Hanhalla members showed the family a video of their son dancing at the yeshiva’s Purim party this year, while he was serving in the area.

The Israeli news site quoted Rabbi Menachem Ben-Shachar, who described to David’s parents how he davened and learned in the yeshiva, and engaged with students.

“I told the parents about the David we were privileged to meet last winter. Soldiers from the Egoz unit served in Homesh for two months. David would often come to the study hall for evening prayers, to study, and talk with the students.”

“He danced with us for hours on Purim night, and anyone at the yeshiva remembers him and the dancing,” he added.

He said, “The parents were very moved to see the videos of the dancing, in which David the soldier is seen dancing with the students. They said it was difficult for him to stay in the army for Purim, a Holiday he loved so much. And after Purim, he told his parents that he was at the Chomesh Yeshiva, and it was good.”

Sergeant-Major David Yehuda Yitzchak, a 23-year-old resident of Beit El, was killed in action Tuesday evening during the final stages of the “Bayit V’Gan” operation in Jenin. David, who was a member of the Egoz commando unit, leaves behind his parents and six siblings.

Y’, a friend of David Yitzchak, eulogized him stating that “he brought me up and taught me. He had an amazing approach, he was all goodheartedness, a fantastic soldier, a hero of Israel. He taught me that whatever happens we must maintain unity. He felt that we are all brothers whatever happens.

“His benevolence was something unusual, whatever he did was with a true small, with all his heart.”
