In video footage released, Rav Landau is seen telling the bochurim not to get involved in arguments or debates with chilonim. He also emphasized that just because students are leaving yeshiva for summer, that does not change their essence or their identities.
He said, “There’s something that’s important to remember: there is a time called ‘vacation,’ during vacation you remain bnei Torah,” he said, and added: “You don’t change, you don’t become different. Always be a ben Torah, act like a ben Torah.”
“Don’t get into arguments or confrontations with Chilonim about anything. Just act respectable. Bnei Torah are respectable in their own right.”
“This is important for all the yeshivos, to remain Bnei Torah during Bein Hazmanim…to adhere to all four sections of the Shulchan Orech also during Bein Hazmanim.”
Pretty scary if he needs to tell his boys yo behave properly. They should have learnt that from first grade on
Avoiding confrontations is usually best.
Rav Landau is correct and needless to say that he does not need my validation.
Bnei Torah means someone who observes Torah U’mitzvos as a Yid is suppose to. And without doing it we are not Yidden as רבי סעדיה גאון writes אין אומתנו אומה אלא בתורתה
Chilonim mean someone who is free of the Torah lives life as a full fledge Goy.
Their wine is Yayin Nesech, they have zero credibility in Kashrus etc etc.
In the nine days we suppose to learn these things to know what a Yid is all about.
THAT’S the way Gedoilai Yisrael speak!
Sounds like the Rav of Slabodka learned the Tanya for today.
