Foxx posted on Friday:”They killed this dude name Jesus… What do you think they’ll do to you???!” followed by the hashtags #fakefriends #fakelove.

He later deleted the post, called his words “clumsy”, and claimed that by “they” he was referring to a “fake friend” who had betrayed him.

He wrote, “Hey guys. I want to apologize to the Jewish community and anyone else who was offended by my post… I know my words were clumsy and have caused offense… that was never my intent… to clarify… I felt betrayed by a fake friend… and that’s what I meant about ‘they’ nothing more…”

Actress Jennifer Aniston liked Foxx’s post before it was deleted. She later wrote on Instagram that “This really makes me sick. I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds – I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. And I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. PERIOD.”

Multiple social media interpreted Foxx’s words as antisemitic, and some blasted the artist.

A journalist named Eve Barlow blasted the post, saying, “I am a Jewish advocate who fights antisemitism. Jamie Foxx’s post was a horrifically antisemitic message rooted in classic blood libel and anti-Jewish conspiracy theory. He has 16.7 million followers. I’m not waiting on him to further expand.”

Melissa Weiss tweeted, “Seeing someone like Jamie Foxx post antisemitic content is a sad reminder that Jews can’t just exist like most everyone else. There will always be people who hate us.”

It seems like there are some people who have a full time job looking for antisemitism, I don’t think that being hyper sensitive will make us more Loved.
To clarify I’m against bigotry in any form but if someone made a comment that can be explained otherwise or if he apologizes let him off the hook and invite him to BP for chulent that will be a lot more helpful.

Hmmm… this “fake friend” is Jewish, right? So, how does Mr. Fox’s explanation help himself?

Nobody should be surprised
This is only the tip of the iceberg
NBA stars, Hollywood stars, rockstars ….
The very ones that wear their heart on their sleeve and make a big show of decrying bigotry, are the biggest bigots of all. They get away with it because there is no price to pay . A milk toast , lukewarm apology, an appearance with the woke politician of the moment and all is forgiven and forgotten. Simply look at Kanye West. Nike is bringing back his product as aggressively as ever. There is never a price to pay.
