BALTIMORE – (VINnews) The Baltimore Jewish community has been deeply shaken by the tragic loss of its cherished member, Reb Menachem Mendel Braun, Z”L, who tragically lost his life in a boating incident. He was the devoted husband of Mrs. Chaya Braun and the beloved son of Rabbi and Mrs. Avraham and Mirel Braun of Monsey. Rabbi Avraham Braun previously served as the Menahel of Ohr Someach of Monsey.

The Levaya took place in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon at Sol Levinson, followed by a Levaya in Monsey at Yeshiva of South Monsey and the Kevurah at Monsey Beis HaChaim on Brick Church Road.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Braun dedicated his life to supporting at-risk youth and had a profoundly positive influence on numerous Jewish individuals facing life’s challenges. He was renowned for his unwavering availability, always ready to lend a listening ear to anyone in need. His involvement extended to various Shuls in Baltimore, where his warm smile and words of encouragement left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

During the levaya, Rabbi Avraham Braun mentioned that whenever someone approached him to discuss challenges they were facing with their own children, he consistently directed them to his son, Rabbi Menachem. This was because Rabbi Menachem had earned a reputation as an expert in handling such situations. Rabbi Avraham shared that he often received positive feedback from the parents, confirming that Rabbi Menachem had effectively addressed the issues at hand.
