ISRAEL (VINnews) – Ermetic, a four year old Israeli cloud security startup was just acquired by Tenable for $265M. They employ 150 people, with offices in Tel Aviv, Boston, & Palo Alto. US & Israeli VC’s who backed Ermetic include Glilot, Accel, Qumra, ForgePoint & Norwest Ventures.

This closely follows Checkpoints’ acquisition of Atmosec, another Israeli cyber startup. With 300+ Israeli cyber companies, Israel is a cyber security powerhouse controlling 5% of the global market share.

As infrastructure moves to the cloud, the need for cloud native security tools has increased dramatically. Ermetic provides both CIEM (cloud infrastructure entitlement management) and CNAPP (cloud native application protection platform) services to large enterprises.

Tenable, a leader in exposure management, is currently traded at a market cap of $5.2B and previously purchased Indegy, a Tel Aviv-based company for ~ $100 million in December 2019.
