The security guard, a member of the railway security detail, was lightly injured in the hand while grappling with the terrorist. A police officer opened fire on the terrorist, neutralizing him. The guard was taken to the nearby Hadassah Har Hatzofim hospital for further treatment.

The terrorist, a 19-year-old resident of East Jerusalem, was seriously injured in the attack and taken to hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the incident.

The current incident follows two previous attempted attacks in the last 24 hours in which two terrorists were found with knives on them as they prepared to attack civilians in the Tel Aviv region.

They use the term “neutralized” whether the terrorist is killed or just temporarily incapacitated. If the terrorist is killed, just say he was killed.
