OPINION: Drinking a Cup of Starbucks is Drinking a Cup of Jewish Blood

Paper pulp from recycled cups has shorter fibers than virgin pulp, which means less rigidity, important particularly with hot coffee. NEW JERSEY (Duvi Honig / VINnews) — Starbucks Union representing almost 9,000 baristas, Starbucks Workers United, shockingly expressing “solidarity with Hamas” following the heartbreaking Hamas attack on innocent Israelis, where over 1,200 lives were tragically lost in the most barbaric murderous ways which includes Shooting infants, young children and burning whole families of human civilians alive.

Over the years, we have witnessed numerous instances of corporations making ill-advised decisions that affected the profits of their decision-makers. Examples such as Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, owned by Unilever, and, more recently, Budweiser Anheuser-Busch, whose profits in the US experienced a substantial decline after the highly controversial Bud Light ad campaign perpetrated by Dylan Mulvaney. However, it is essential to highlight that these marketing campaigns, despite their faults, were not in any way endorsing or supporting the mass barbaric murder of innocent civilians, including infants, children, women, and the elderly and were solely corporate marketing bad decisions.

The solidarity shown by the Starbucks Union, consisting of a whopping 9,000 employees, is disturbing beyond measure. It is a support that extends to a family of 20 innocent souls who were ruthlessly shot, piled up, and burned alive by Hamas. The sheer brutality displayed in this act is difficult to process. How can we, as consumers, be comfortable allowing Starbucks employees, who express such solidarity with perpetrators of egregious violence, to serve us our daily cup of coffee? Should we not feel troubled by the fact that the very cup we hold in our hands might symbolize something far more sinister – the blood of innocent Jews, whose lives these employees openly align with?

It is with a heavy heart that the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, along with our esteemed partners, calls for a widespread boycott of Starbucks. We also implore all the groups that have previously demonstrated their concern by boycotting Budweiser to once again stand united in boycotting Starbucks and show their solidarity for the value of human life. Your voice, combined with ours, will send a strong message against the normalization of violence and hatred.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on the choices we make and the implications they carry. When we sip on a Starbucks coffee, should we not be aware of the possibility that we may be unknowingly consuming more than just a caffeinated beverage? Furthermore, can we truly separate the taste of our coffee from the painful imagery of innocent lives lost and the solidarity expressed by those serving us? The very thought leaves a deep, unsettling unease in the mind and heart.

Please join us in raising awareness about this distressing issue. Share this Boycott with friends, family, and coworkers, urging them to reevaluate their choices and consider the implications of supporting Starbucks. Together, let us make a resounding statement against the indifference displayed towards the loss of innocent lives and demand accountability from corporations whose workers actions align with those who perpetrate such horrific acts with its workers using the brands name to send a message to the entire world Via the vast reach of Starbucks a leading business in commerce to support barbaric murder of innocent civilians .

We must stand together to protect the value of human life and call our those who don’t.

Hey there I think the Jewish chamber of commerce does not understand what a Union is. Starbucks is actually fighting this union for year’s (obviously for other reasons) and by the way they don’t even represent more then 2 percent of their workers. Please find better ways to stay valid

Corporate Starbucks sympathised with BLM. Any other discussion is
mere commentary.

I’m disappointed to see am Yisroel be guilty of spreading hate. Starbucks absolutely does not support terror. And actually condemns strongly.
The letter makes no mention of outreach to Starbucks for comment. A simple google search brings up the following. Please read.

I really think the OJCC should focus on college campuses and what have you – as others have said

A) Corp Starbucks is at war with unions
B) 9k is a drop in the hat of total employees
C) they deleted the post

I disagree that it’s morally wrong to support Starbucks because of what their labor union did, but on the other hand, maybe I don’t want those hands touching my coffee cup. It doesn’t apply to me personally though, because I only drink REAL coffee (grocery store drip coffee made by my automatic coffee maker, which is ready for me in the morning as soon as I wake up because it has a built in timer).

I don’t understand. Starbucks has more than 400k baristas. This Union only represents 9k that’s less than 2% plus who even says all 9k agree with their Statements. so what’s the big fuss.

Corporations only respond when their profits are at stake.

Unions only respond when their membership is at stake.

In this case, we should boycott both as much as possible and it should start by pulling hashkocha from all Starbucks nationwide.

The reason we shouldn’t go into Starbucks is not politics. Rather Bc it is easy to consume trief.
Unfortunately the average person does not keep abreast with the problems of purchasing in Starbucks, a store that serves hot trief food. Kashrut organizations are constantly putting out bulletins on new issues. Such as a recent drink that has grape juice in it that many frum people still consume despite the warnings. This isn’t a “chumra” but basic halacha.
Unless you are current on what/how to purchase there you have no business buying there.

Come on this is wrong. The unions don’t speak for Starbucks, they are independent of Starbucks and voted on by members of the locations. Starbucks actually fights against the unions as do many companies because the unions hold companies by the cojones, as we see now from autoworkers strike and others. If anything a list should be published of the locations which the unions represent and to just avoid those specific locations to hurt them, not the company as a whole. The comparison made to other boycotts against companies such as Ben and Jerry’s and Bud Light is a complete non sequitur because in those cases the companies themselves ran those campaigns or opinions, not any union representing a small fraction of employees.
I’m sorry but this is just wrong.

Another lie/exaggeration:
The solidarity shown by the Starbucks Union, consisting of a whopping 9,000 employees…
WHOPPING 9,000 employees? WHOPPING?? Out of over 400,000+ employees, 9,000 is hardly “whopping”. If this self-important OJCC really wants to use an adjective to describe the 9,000 out of 400,000+ employees, how about MINISCULE? Oh, wait, that would counter their agenda.

9,000 unionized retail employees out of over 238,000 (statistically not all that significant), also their corporate stores disagree with the union. My local Starbucks is not part of the union and they feel misrepresented by was a small minority is doing to them. Finally Starbucks owns these stores, they are not franchised.

A quick search reveals that this was a union that posted “Solidarity with Palestine”, which is upsetting, but is not Hamas – please get your facts right. The company is also suing the union because of the post, which apparently was not approved by union leaders, and was taken down 40 minutes after it was posted. I got this information from an AP article.

There’s enough terrible truth out there. Why jeopardize our message with half-truths or outright lies? The union said “Solidarity with Palestine”, not “Solidarity with Hamas.”
Now, we all know that right now there’s not much of a difference. However, if you put out a statement with quotation marks (“Solidarity with Hamas”), then you are in a sense certifying that whatever is in those quotation marks you are quoting verbatim.
And, in this case, that was simply not true. And then the entire veracity of your message becomes suspect. And that is stupid, it is sloppy, it is irresponsible.

afaik, this is a union position, to support genocidal terrorism sauvâtes jews, which starbucks doesn’t support. so when you buy a coffee, ask the staff if they’re union, and tip accordingly. and maybe tell them how you feel.
