In this ever-evolving crisis, funds raised will enable OU Israel to provide Israeli adults and children of all ages with physical, emotional, and spiritual chizuk in their hour of greatest need.
What the Orthodox Union is Doing to Help
Vouchers: To help ease some of evacuees’ and hosts’ financial and emotional burdens, OU Israel is providing evacuees with vouchers that can be used to acquire basic needs like groceries, clothing and baby necessities.
Supplies: As the hundreds of reservists left their homes at a moment’s notice during Shabbos and yuntif, they lack essentials such as sleeping mats, watches and chargers. The campaign will aid OU Israel to secure these supplies, and also to be mechazek those on the battlefield with tashmishei kedusha including tzitzis, taleisim and Tehillim, which so many soldiers have requested.
Chizuk care packages: With schools closed indefinitely, OU Israel recognizes the challenges of parents — often mothers whose husbands are serving — to care for, calm, and occupy their children who are feeling the emotional toll of this terrible calamity. In order to boost their morale, OU Israel is sending chizuk care packages to families that include treats and activities, like coloring books, to provide children with a diversion and help parents to maintain a small semblance of stability and security.
