NEW YORK (VINnews) — Legendary singer Benny Friedman called out former CNN host Piers Morgan, for hinting that Israel is culpable for the plight of Gazan civilians.

In response to a tweet by Morgan to his 8.7 million followers referencing the “appalling images & accounts of what innocent Palestinians have suffered”, Friedman wrote: “It’s pronouncements like these that are the reason that terrorists use human shields.” He also accused Morgan of being “unwittingly the tool that endangers millions of innocents.”

Morgan replied to Friedman’s tweet, however he dodged to overall issue, and made things personal.

Morgan’s initial tweet said: “The appalling images & accounts of what innocent Israelis suffered on Oct7 are utterly heartbreaking. And so are the appalling images & accounts of what innocent Palestinians have suffered since then. If you disagree with any part of this, you have no humanity or moral compass.”

Friedman replied: “Nobody knows what you’re trying to accomplish here, other than show off your beautiful moral compass. But everybody knows that it’s pronouncements like these that are the reason that terrorists use human shields. You are unwittingly the tool that endangers millions of innocents.”

Morgan then replied to Friedman’s tweet saying: “This response says more about you than me.”

Friedman then responded: “Why do hamas hide behind babies? Because they know that good people like you will cry out when the babies are killed! And that will create pressure on the Israelis to stop. It’s horrific, nobody is arguing that. But the painful fact is that terrorists depend on you crying out.”

He added: “Every time someone, especially someone with a large audience, cries out about innocent civilians dying in gaza, they are encouraging the use of human shields. That’s the sad reality. Moral compass or no”

Other Twitter users slammed the British talk show host as well.

Joel Wolh tweeted: “So you’re literally equating Jews in Auschwitz with the Germans in the town next door that got hit by a stray missile. Absolutely abhorrent.”

Natan Slifkin tweeted: “The difference is that in one case, the suffering and killing of civilians was the entire point, and in the second case, it was an undesired and unavoidable consequence of stopping the first thing from happening again.”

Sadly, Hamas’ despicable strategy of using human shields to evoke world sympathy has proven very effective. While evil Hamas terrorist animals are the only aggressors, solely responsible for both Jewish lives and Arab lives, the Israelis are being condemned by many mainstream figures.

This is their exact game plan.

Here is an excerpt from a recent article in the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD)

Hamas leadership ordered civilians in northern Gaza to defy the IDF’s advice to “evacuate south for your own safety” in advance of Israel’s ground invasion.

“Eyad al-Bozom, a spokesman for Hamas’ interior ministry, encouraged Gaza’s residents to “stay put in your homes and your places.”

“…National Security Council spokesman John Kirby explained on CNN, “‘Hamas actually gave a counterorder telling Palestinians in Gaza to stay at home. Why? Because having human shields, they think, protects them.’”

Hamas’ use of human shields is not new. Hamas has come close to confessing its exploitation of civilians before.

During an organized 2016 uprising at the Gaza border, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar admitted the group “decided to turn that which is most dear to us — the bodies of our women and children — into a dam blocking the collapse in Arab reality.”

“…The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), whose mission is to provide relief for Palestinians, has repeatedly found stores of Hamas rockets hidden in tunnels beneath its schools.

“In 2018, Congress passed the Sanctioning the Use of Civilians as Defenseless Shields Act, which has lain dormant since becoming law.

“The Shields Act, which specifically calls out Hamas, requires the president to impose sanctions on individuals determined to be using human shields, but neither Biden nor his predecessor designated any Hamas leaders. Now would be a good time to start…

“It is not Israel but Hamas that bears moral responsibility for the death of civilians in this war. Hamas seeks to win by generating enough pressure on Israel from its allies to force an end to Israel’s military operations. Washington should make clear it will never fall for this ruse; nor should anyone else.”

There are NO innocents. When for two years they go to work in Israel for good wages, they on a daily basis made notes of times, places, personnel, border patrol, sabbath observant, childrens daycare, guard checkpoints, they were not only complicit but active participants. So today they wear civilian clothing, but inside those clothes they are the cockroaches that enabled this disaster and now they pay the price. The citizens of Dresden also paid a price, as did Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Berlin, Anzio and more. They asked for it, not they are GETTING it.

As always Piers Morgan thinks it’s cool to be a moderate outside observer in this conflict saying that there’s wrong doing on both sides.
Not knowing how to separate pure from evil is stupid and maybe even evil.

We don’t take moral preaching from a 3rd rate showbiz mouthpiece who’s become a Hamas lap dog.

I know Benny Friedman didn’t mean to call Piers Morgan a tool, but I will. Piers Morgan is a tool.

Hadthe Allies not bombed Germany during world war II this bozo would still be sitting in a bunker somewhere in Britain! Whether he would be dead or alive is a good question.

Sorry but everyone is missing the point. And it’s not complicated.
Benny should have simply asked Piers what does he think Bibi should do now? Stop the war? Forgive Hamas and everyone go home? And what should Israel do about 229 hostages?
Please answer that Piers and we can continue the conversation.

I don’t get what is upsetting BF or any of the commenters. All he is saying is that it is heartbreaking for both sides. He did not say or imply, IMO, Israel is at fault (although Bibi is responsible for what happened on Oct 7 because it happened on his watch) So stop with your knee-jerk reactions.
