United apologized for the inaccurate report on resumption of service, which it attributed to an error by its public relations firm. Its flights to Tel Aviv will remain suspended until conditions allow them to resume, the company said.

Several media outlets, including Reuters, had reported the restart announcement.

United was one of several to suspend or scale back flights to or from Tel Aviv after the Hamas attack raised safety concerns.
