The Yismach Moshe shul, led by Rabbi Heshy Blumstein, held a Kiddush in honor of Sid, who has been an unparalleled spokesman for the Jewish people in New York and throughout the country, not just in recent weeks, but for many years. The event was followed by a lunch seudah at the home of Rabbi Blumstein and his family.
The Kiddush was arranged by former Assemblyman Dov Hikind, a staunch Jewish advocate who has a close relationship with Rosenberg–a fearless and outspoken advocate for Israel–frequently appearing on his ratings-winning morning program, the top ranking radio talk show in the massive and highly competitive NYC market. Hikind is a member of the shul.
In an appearance Monday on his show, Dov told Sid, “I didn’t realize how big a superstar you are Sid, you touched everyone’s heart, it was just amazing.” (audio below)
Sid replied, “If you’re saying it was amazing, you can imagine how it was for (his wife) Danielle and I. You made Danielle cry during your speech at the Kiddush…I love my Judaism as much as anyone, I learned in yeshiva for many years.”
During the interview, Sid took pride in the yeshiva education he received growing up in Brooklyn, and the fact that he was able to receive an aliyah and recite the brachos fluently without any assistance.

Rosenberg also mentioned his late father, with whom he was extremely close, and who was devoted to the Jewish religion. Sid said, “Hopefully he is smiling from the Heavens.”
Sid spoke very highly of his experience at shul, where he addressed the crowd during Kiddush, as well as
In a separate statement, Dov said, “It was a super Kiddush, people were affected and strengthened.”
He added, “I never had so many people text and email me, saying how affected they were by the Shabbos.”
Dov and Sid are hoping to visit Israel together in the near future, and Sid plans to broadcast his show from there.
“Sid loves the Jewish people, he really does, October 7th brought him closer to Yiddishkeit,” Dov said.
In reference to the Hikind family, Sid was filled with praise, saying, “What a beautiful family, all of them, very very special people.”
