Suspect Who Scrawled Anti-Semitic Graffiti on NYC Building Sought by Police

    New York – Once again, the NYPD is turning to the public for help identifying a suspect in an anti-Semitic incident, this time looking for an individual who scrawled graffiti on a residential building in Manhattan’s Flatiron district.

    Police said that the incident took place on November 9th at approximately 8 PM. Surveillance footage captured a photograph of a man who drew a Star of David and wrote the word “Jew?” on the door of 131 5th Avenue. According to CityRealty.com, the eight story building was built in 1904 for the Roosevelt family and became part of the original Lord & Taylor department store before it was converted into a cooperative with 23 apartments.

    The suspect, who is described as being of medium build and 50 to 60 years old, was wearing glasses and a knit beanie at the time of the attack. He left the scene on foot.

    The NYPD is investigating the incident as a hate crime.
