One man in the video identifies himself as 79-year-old Chaim Peri, who was abducted from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. The other two hostages are fellow Nir Oz residents Amiram Cooper, 84, and Yoram Metzger, 80.

Yoram’s son Roni, told Israeli media that his father, a diabetic suffering from mobility issues, appeared to have lost a lot of weight and looked “years older.”

“Father is not in a good condition,” he told Kan news. “Everything must be done to bring [the hostages] home.”

Metzger was quoted by another outlet saying that Mr. Cooper and Mr. Peri also “don’t look in good condition, not themselves. You don’t see a shred of liveliness on their faces”

This is the first sign that the men are alive since October 7, when they were kidnapped during Hamas’ attack on Israel.

In the video, the three recite words dictated by their terrorist captors: “We are the generation that built the country, we participated in building the army, and I don’t understand why we are here. We don’t need to be victims of air force bombings.”

Hamas played in the background a Hebrew song with the lyrics אַל־תַּ֖שְׁלִיכֵנִי לְעֵ֣ת זִקְנָ֑ה כִּכְל֥וֹת כֹּ֜חִ֗י אַל־תַּֽעַזְבֵֽנִי — ‘do not cast me away in my old age,’ (Tehillim 71:9).

Only Mr. Peri speaks in the video. There is no indication of when it was filmed, however the men’s frail appearance indicates it was after some time in captivity.

Hamas has released similar videos of hostages, in what Israel calls deplorable psychological warfare.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari labeled the video as “atrocious terror.”

“It shows the cruelty of Hamas against elderly civilians, innocents, who require medical attention,” Hagari said at an evening press conference. “The world must work to allow medical aid and to verify their condition.”

“Our hearts are with the hostages and their families at every moment,” Hagari continued. “Haim, Yoram, and Amiram, I hope you can hear me this evening. You should know that we are doing everything to return you home safely. We will not rest until you return.”

Israeli media does not broadcast the video clips themselves, nor does VINnews.

Hamas is documenting and sending out videos of its torture of innocent people. There is no court, organization, or other authority anywhere in the world who is doing anything for these hostages, other than Israel. The State of Israel has only itself to answer to. Until the world realizes that, there can be no questions or complaints from outside countries as to what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza.

Maybe it’s you who should spend time with them until 240.
Words like this do not come from a Jewish soul. I think your name is Fatima, not Yvette.
