JERUSALEM (VINnews)— BDE: The IDF announced Wednesday morning that Captain (res.) Lior Sivan, 32, from Beit Shemesh, fell on Tuesday during a battle in the southern Gaza Strip.

Sivan served as a combat officer in the 363rd Battalion of the 10th Brigade. Sivan is survived by his wife Liav, who is in her ninth month of pregnancy, and by his young son.

In addition, a soldier from the Givati Brigade was seriously injured in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. His family have been notified.
The IDF also cleared for publication Wednesday that Sgt.-Major Uriel Cohen of Tzur Hadassah (34) had been killed in action in Gaza.Cohen was a humvee commander in the Givati brigade. He is survived by his wife Chana and two daughters.
