Two IDF Officers, One Combat Soldier Fall In Gaza Battles

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — BDE: The IDF announced the names of three soldiers who fell in the fierce fighting in Gaza over the past day. May their blood be avenged.

– Sergeant first class (res.) Asaf Pinhas Tubul, 22, from Kiryat Motzkin, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Tubul had not been called up at the beginning of the war but volunteered to join his unit in the fighting.

Tubul is the second member of his yeshiva high school, Pirchei Aharon in Haifa, to fall in the Gaza battle after Captain Oshri Butzhak was killed last Shabbat.

– Captain Neriya Zisak, 24, from Masu’ot Itzhak, fell in battle in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Zisak had been on a trip in South America when the war broke out but cut short his trip to return to his unit and fight in Gaza. He is the 15th member of the religious pre-army academy in the town of Eli to fall in the battles.

– Major Dvir David Fima, 32, from Kfar Yona, fell in battle in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Fima was a deputy battalion commander who led his forces with courage and bravery. When they reached a tunnel which was booby-trapped, Fima protected his soldiers from the blast, saving the lives of three other soldiers.

Fima, the oldest of six siblings, is survived by his parents, his wife Ofek and his 18-month-old son Harel. His father came to visit him last week after not having seen him for 50 days.
