Border Policewoman Killed In Jenin, Israeli Arab Murdered In Binyamin Terrorist Attack

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Border policewoman Sergeant Shai Garmai was killed when the vehicle she was in was struck by an explosive device during operations in the Jenin refugee camp overnight.

Garmai, a 19-year-old from Karmiel, is the 60th police casualty in the Swords of Steel war.

The police said in a message to her family: “The Israel Police will stand by the bereaved family and accompany them forever.”

Three other police officers were injured in the attack on the vehicle, one seriously, one moderately, and one lightly.The attack occurred when the Border Police armored vehicle was moving down an entry road to Jenin and an explosive device hidden in the road was detonated

All of the injured were evacuated for medical treatment at Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

During the Jenin operation, Palestinian sources reported six terrorists killed.

In an unrelated incident which occurred in the same region, terrorists opened fire at an Israeli car in the Wadi Harmiah region north of Shilo. The driver, a 30-year-old Israeli Arab, died of his injuries. The terrorists escaped and security forces are conducting a manhunt for them.
