Avichai was originally unsure whether or not to request leave for the occasion but decided to remain in Gaza and continue fighting Hamas.

“Today, 25 Teves, I am 32 years without my father,” Shorshan said in a video published in social media. 32 years ago, not far from here at Dir El-Balah, accursed terrorists lay in wait for my father as he returned from work, shot him at point blank range and decapitated him. Even though my father and me are Golani battalion graduates, I’m proud to be here with the Givati commandos, to retaliate and restore our honor.”

“Two hours ago, we returned from another attack against a Hamas stronghold, “Avichai wrote in a Twitter post.” More terrorists were killed, more munitions were destroyed, and more high-quality intelligence was gathered.”

“We returned from the attack, and I lit a memorial candle and recited the Kaddish prayer for my father. Then it was on to the next attack, to continue fighting, until victory.”

Avichai’s father Doron was a farmer at Kfar Darom, who grew tomatoes for export as well as insect-free vegetables. He was survived by his wife and three children, as well as a son, Yair Doron, born seven months after his murder at the age of 29.

“I’m proud to be here with the Givati commandos, to retaliate and restore our honor.” The truth is that this reference to “restoring honor” is not Jewish but rather Zionist. The honor of a Jew is his following the Torah. Nothing can take away that honor unless – like the Zionists proudly did and do – it causes him to stray from the Torah, G-d forbid. Sadly ironic.
