Rabbi Moshe Dov Heber: The Future is Bright

WATERBURY (VINnews) — There are moments in life that move us. There are moments where we have a slight change of schedule that offer us a perspective we would have otherwise not seen. One such incident was at 12 noon on Thursday, January fourth. Torah Umesorah and the gedolim called for a kinnus tefillah for the ongoing situation in Eretz Yisroel.

My sixth grade class joined the rest of our middle school and the fourth and fifth grade of Yeshiva K’tana of Waterbury in the bais medrash. It was full with over 150 boys gathered. Rav Elya Brudny spoke on video followed by Tehillim. The Tehillim was said with fervor, its sounds echoing off the walls. Perek after perek were said with emotion. Each boy was into it. Pasuk by pasuk, one could see swaying to the words of Dovid Hamelech.

I closed my eyes and pictured that scene playing itself out in hundreds of locations. Big schools and small schools, in-town yeshivos and out-of-town yeshivos, Litvish, Chasidish and Sephardic. Each boy sharing the same mission in common, connecting to Hashem begging him for mercy.

I was moved by that sight that the Aibeshter was also seeing. Dots all over His map, connected in tefillah. Dots all over his map of shining neshamos. Dots all over his map of the future of k’lal Yisroel.

Tens of thousands of beautiful neshamos feeling the pain of a fellow yid. Tens of thousands of children yearning to grow. Tens of thousands of children who will one day be the face and future of k’lal Yisroel.

The future is most definitely bright!
