JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Two Qatari aircraft carrying medicines for hostages as well as for Gazan citizens landed in El-Arish, Egypt on Wednesday, after an agreement was brokered by France and Qatar over the distribution of the medications. The shipment is expected to enter the Gaza strip later on Wednesday.

Hamas officials provided more details of the agreement brokered between Israel and Hamas, the first since the hostage prisoner exchanges over a month ago.

Senior Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk announced that for each box of medicine provided to the hostages, 1,000 boxes would be sent for use by Palestinian civilians.

Marzouk reported that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICC) would deliver all the medicines, including those destined for the hostages, to hospitals serving all parts of Gaza.

The agreement also includes the delivery of additional food and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Hamas had demanded that no security checks be made on the medicine shipment, a requirement which was apparently accepted by Prime Minister Netanyahu. This will be the first shipment to enter the Strip without first being inspected by Israel since the start of the war, amid fears Hamas would try to smuggle in weapons.

Hamas also insisted that Qatar provide the medications and not France because of the French support for Israel during the war.

The over 100 hostages remaining in captivity in Gaza include several older men and others who require medication for chronic illness.

Going through Egypt means everything will go to Hamas, nothing to the residents of Gaza.

So red cross will deliver the medication for the hostages to the hospital? How does that help? They should bring it to the hostages themselves accompanied by a doctor to administer when needed or give the pills to them directly.
