JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Rabbi Avraham Arbiv is one of Israel’s prominent Dayanim and a member of the Tel Aviv rabbinical court. A graduate of the Itri and Beit El yeshivas and the head of the pre-military academy in Beit El, Rabbi Arbiv also has another unique feature- he is a marksman and sniper in one of the elite IDF units and fought in the Protective Edge campaign as well as in the current campaign. Even at age 52, Rabbi Zarbiv, who has authored a number of seforim, continues to come to reserve duty and is now serving in the southern Gaza strip. Recently a clip was shown of him firing and hitting terrorists in his combat position.

Rabbi Zarbiv recently returned home for a furlough, where he was surprised to find a group of charedim who had enlisted a special donation to provide him with more advanced equipment. The donation, courtesy of Vaad Ha’Tzdakah of Miami, included flashlights, portable generators, ceramic jackets and advanced sights for guns, since people had noticed in the clip that the Rabbi’s equipment was old and unfit for modern warfare.

Rabbi Zarbiv was very moved by the gifts and thanked the volunteers and donors warmly for their important contribution to the war effort.

“the head of the pre-military academy in Beit El…” So, in other words, Zionist shmad. He would accomplish far, far more for Klal Yisrael if he were to focus on only Torah and not at all on promoting Zionism and shmading boys to go to the Zionist army. But the idolaters here won’t like that, of course.
