Satmar Rebbe Provides Food For IDF Units: ‘No Soldier Should Stay Hungry’

76

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A group of soldiers who are guarding the northern border were stuck this week without food for Shabbos. The soldiers, who are members of a unit formed from graduates of the charedi Netzach Yehuda battalion, prepared to travel to Tzfat to buy some supplies for Shabbos, but before they managed to, they received a special shipment from a very unusual source – Satmar chasidim.

It all started when one of the soldiers met a friend of his from the Alexandroni brigade who gave him the number of the grandson of the Satmar Rebbe and said that “He will take care of everything.”

The soldier called the number and said that there were 10 soldiers on the Lebanese front line. “This morning a truch came with students from the Satmar yeshiva and brought cartons full of food.”

The soldier asked them where they were taking the rest of the food on the truck and they answered that they are going to all the bases in the north and bringing food to the soldiers for Shabbos.”

The soldier stressed that “If people ask you who is feeding the soldiers in the north its the Satmar Rebbe who gave an order that no soldier should stay hungry and their needs should be provided. The students dealt with all the small details including a kiddush cup and insisted that no pictures be taken of them.”

The video was wonderful – the chayal in the video said in Yiddish “it’s a war of the Arab Nazis again K’lal Yisrael” – a perfect description of the war. Our family just came back from a visit to Israel/EY where we did all kinds of chesed work. We were so impressed by the number of Chareidim making barbques for soldiers near the front lines , and visiting the wounded chayalim and bringing baked goods and other goodies, at Tel Hashomer hospital. The achdus in Israeli society that we saw is inspiring, and i’h, a great victory will occur in the near future.

Chaval. Here they are feeding the hungry tired soldiers and they’re afraid of repercussions from their group. No one should ever be afraid of doing a mitzva!

Unfortunately, some misguided Satmar chasidim will be saying that the Rebbe is a Zionist, not understanding that the Rebbe’s action show him to be an Ohev Yisroel

In WW2, the USA had an “ice cream ship” in the South Pacific. It’s sole purpose was to provide us soldiers with ice cream. But it’s real tactical advantage was demoralising the Japanese soldiers who couldn’t even get petrol or bullets to their front lines knowing that US GIs had everyting they wanted including wan entire shop dedicated only to ice cream. The very frum who choose not to serve can help make the IDF the best logistically supplied military in the world. I would love to see a satmar Ice Cream battalion.

Nice story, but why are soldiers without food? The army is not providing food? Or the soldiers were asking for more heimish Shabbos style food that is not standard army issue?

If all you takers-of-sides are incapable of getting along with, or at least listening to, Jews who hold dissenting positions, why would you think that Hashem would WANT to send his Moshiach to you now?

In Satmar rebbe R’ Yoilish’s shul there was an appeal for the United Jewish Appeal for the Medina before Kol nidrei the year was 1948, R’ Yoilish probably gave a donation, I heard this from someone who was there.

One person on this web site always caused problems with his never-ending attacks against “THE ZIONISTS”. I suggest to the moderators that all his comments be DELETED, because he is insane with hate for Jews.

it is almost impossible to believe I have been taught in life many times that ” things which are too good to be true are probably not “. this is a fantatsy beautiful fantasy but not in the realm of reality —— impossible .
