– Warrant officer (res.) Yuval Nir, a 43-year-old resident of Kfar Etzion. He is survived by his wife Ayala and five children. His parents, Amos and Letzi Nir, are residents of Migdal Oz in Gush Etzion.

Gush Etzion Regional Council Chief Shlomo Ne’eman said, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one Yuval Nir. He was one of our most precious sons who went into battle on Simchat Torah (October 7) in Gaza. Yuval, you fell as a hero, in the most just of wars, in defense of your people and homeland. We send our condolences to the extended Nir family and the communities of Kfar Etzion and Migdal Oz.”

A friend of Yuval described him as “a man with no enemies” who would get up at 4:30 AM on Shabbat to learn Torah but wouldn’t tell anyone about it. Others said that he was “a professional soldier and stalwart person, a Yerei Shamayim who loved Hashem and the Jewish people unconditionally.”

– Captain (res.) Gavriel Shani, (28) a resident of Eli originally from the town of Yakir in Samaria, fell in battle in Gaza. Shani is survived by his wife and two young children. The town announced his death and sent condolences to the Shani and Daum families.

Shani is the fourth member of Eli to be killed in the Swords of Steel operation.

Israel Ganz, governor of the Binyamin Regional Council, said, “We received bitter news this evening about the fall of a respected officer who was devoted to his family, his people and his country. The heart aches over such a precious loss. The entire Binyamin Region shares in the grief of the family which is the grief of all of us. We wrap our arms around his wife and young children and will continue to help and accompany them in whatever they need.”

In addition, Major (res.) Netzer Simchi, a resident of Masad in the Galilee who studied at the Kadoorie Agricultural High School, fell in battle. He is survived by his wife whom he married less than a year ago. He enlisted in his unit after October 7th, arriving from his honeymoon in Thailand.

The administration of the Kadoorie School said, “With great sadness we update on the death of the late hero Netzer Simchi, who was killed today in the battles in Gaza. Netzer Simchi is a graduate of Kadoorie School and lived in Masad. Just got married, less than a year ago. The heart is broken. May his memory be a blessing.”

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit also said that two reservists were seriously injured in the battle in which Shani and Nir fell. Three other soldiers were seriously injured in other battles in the Gaza strip.

In a separate statement, the IDF announced that the body of Ran Go’ili, a police special forces officer who fell on October 7th, is being held by Hamas in Gaza.

Hard to believe, they said that the main reason why they are sending in, and risking, actual soldiers to blow up buildings, as opposed to just bombing them from the air, is because it’s too expensive to use up smart bombs. The truth is that Israel is very short in money. Who ever takes money from the Government, whether it’s Kollel or regular people, instead of earning, should feel very guilty.

Hard to believe that after three months the mighty IDF did not destroy Hamas completely. It’s also hard to believe how after the daily falling of soldiers and many were Dati or even more there are still Frum Jews who are supporting the war.More,if anyone dares to suggest to stop the war and this war by now is all about revenge….that person is being accused as an anti-Semite or a Hamas lover. The effect of zionist nationalism has no comparison.
