Calls For UNRWA Head To Resign After He Claims He ‘Didn’t Know’ Of Terror Tunnel Under HQ

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israeli leaders, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yisrael Katz and UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan, have called on UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini to resign after he claimed he “didn’t know” about the terror tunnels under the organization’s headquarters in Gaza, which included a Hamas intelligence center using electricity from the UNRWA offices above.

Erdan sharply criticized Lazzarini on X writing that: “It’s not that you didn’t know, it’s that you didn’t WANT to know. We exposed terror tunnels under UNRWA schools and supplied evidence that Hamas exploits UNRWA. We implored you to carry out a comprehensive search of all UNRWA facilities in Gaza. But not only did you refuse, you chose to stick your head in the sand.

“Every day we find more proof that in Gaza the UN=Hamas and vice versa. Anything the UN says or claims about Gaza cannot be trusted,” he wrote, calling on Lazzarini to “take responsibility and resign.”

Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz also dismissed Lazzarini’s claim that he was unaware of the tunnel’s presence as “not only absurd but also an affront to common sense.”

“His prompt resignation is imperative,” he writes on X, formerly Twitter

“The exposure of UNRWA’s Gaza headquarters’ deep involvement with Hamas, including its use for terror activities and as an access point to terror tunnels, requires immediate action,” Katz concluded.

Several nations have stopped their funding to UNRWA, while others, including Spain, Norway and Ireland, continue to contribute to them, claiming that they can alleviate the “humanitarian crisis” in Gaza.

Resign? How meek! Hows about this piece of garbage being fired with no last paycheck and being put on trial for aiding and abetting in the brutal murder of over 1200 innocent civilians, rape and torture of more than 300 kidnapped victims??

Outrageous that this UNWRA entity has been openly aiding and abetting terrorist hamas drek in gaza. Calls for this bum to resign should deafen him. Boycott the UN until he’s out!

If UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini really did not know about the terror tunnels under the organization’s headquarters in Gaza, then he is a STUPID IGNORANT IDIOT; which means that he is UNWORTHY of supervising thousands of employees, and he is also UNWORTHY of his large [six-figure] salary.

Out of curiosity, is Lazzarini’s office in Gaza or somewhere in Europe or NY? If the former, then it’s hard to imagine he didn’t know. Otherwise, it’s quite plausible that he didn’t know. Whether or not he should resign is irrelevant to that point.

The Israelis did not seem to know about it either. Anyone in the government going to resign?
