NEW YORK (VINnews) — In a wide ranging interview on the Talk Line Network with radio legend Zev Brenner, Irit Tratt from New York touched on issues ranging from why support for Israel is diminishing amongst young Jewish Americans ,to the alarming rise of Antisemitism on college campuses, to projecting that President Trump will receive a large portion of the Jewish vote nationally later this year.

Notably, Irit, a renowned columnist and National Board Member for the Republican Jewish Coalition and Steering Committee Member for the Jerusalem Center Public Affairs Board of Fellows, made sharp comments about Jewish families who travel to vacations at popular destinations, implying they are defacto choosing to withhold support for Israel.

Irit said that is the time for the Jewish diaspora to stand with Israel by actually going to Israel. “Instead of families going to Europe on their next vacation, they should go to Israel instead, which is important at this time,” Irit said.

Mrs. Tratt’s op-eds have been published in her own Newsmax column, as well as the Jerusalem Post, JNS, Israel Hayom, Washington Times, and Algeminer.

Rabbi Yisroel Reisman spoke out against those Jews who plan their vacations for locations like: Switzerland, France, or Italy where the people hate Jews.
[He said:] “It would be better to visit the Land of Israel to benefit from its holiness and help our brothers economically.”

Since the hotels and available apartments are being occupied by displaced Israelis, where are tourists supposed to stay?

Have my family tickets for Pesach in Yerushalayim. Not a “program” just going to celebrate in Israel. Will buy my food at the shuk and local caterers and support as many Israeli businesses as I can and hopefully do some chesed volunteer work as well. I realize I am very fortunate indeed to have the means and time to do this and I do not take it for granted and thank Hashem every day for my brachos beli ayin hora. You can go whenever you want this pesach but Israel needs you. Tourism is down 75%. And my family was just there over yeshivahcation and said they felt safe and secure in Yerushalayim. Nuff said. Make your choice! With that said it is expensive to fly now via ELAl and no other airlines are reliably flying to Israel so it is very expensive. And I don’t begrudge your vacation choices and Pesach program choicest, all I know is that Israeli businesses are hurting terribly and any help they get is crucial. But we live in a free country and your money is yours to do with what you want.

You want an exciting Pesach?

Make your seder in Egypt. In the middle of the meal, get up, leave, and walk to the Yam Suf. On chol hamoed, tell us what happened.

Europe where I have been many times touring Jewish sites is a Jewish graveyard. Honestly I don’t think a Cohen could step anywhere in Europe without encountering Jewish graves. Europeans despise Jews and let’s not forget the Muslim hatred of Jews. And don’t get me started on Yom tov in uman.

Right, because in war-time, it makes much more sense to vacation in a war-zone than in some scenic destination not at war.

I think it’s important to define what type of a vacation it is. I think that most Orthodox Jews go to Europe to visit the graves of their relatives and of great tzadikim, and other sites pertaining to what Jewish life was there. Consider it more like a history “vacation”. A place that you leave with lots of introspection and probably some sadness as well. But to just go to Europe to go touring in general for the purpose of fun and entertainment is a whole different story and she is absolutely right.

I personally don’t go on vacations, but when one goes on a vacation, it’s where they feel comfortable and relaxed.

maybe im wrong but if I don’t feel safe going there because of the threat from terrorists that can attack any moment and it could be anyone of them, so then why would I go there. if its safe then definitely everyone should go there, why not
