ISRAEL (VINnews) — Jack Lew, the orthodox Jewish ambassador to Israel and former Obama advisor, said that the Biden administration is not intending to recognize a Palestinian state unilaterally.

Lew made the comments while addressing the Conference of Presidents’ annual mission in Jerusalem on Sunday, saying: “We have never said there should be a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state.”

Instead, he called for an “over-the-horizon process that includes a vision for a demilitarized Palestinian state.”

“Now is a moment in time when there is a real possibility that by engaging in normalization and negotiations with Saudi Arabia,” along with reforms in the Palestinian Authority, he said, “that there can be a demilitarized Palestinian state. But Israel will have to make that choice.”

“Any solution must ensure the safety and security of Israel,” Lew said, adding that “there can not be a militarized Palestinian state.”

US support for Israel has “not wavered,” said Lew.

“The fact that we have put a bright light on children suffering in Gaza is not an indication that the US is not behind Israel,” he said. The war, says Lew, “has to be done in a way that’s consistent from our shared values. We have to remember, all of us, that a child is a child.”

He admits that in times of stress, certain language can be used, but Israel “must look at actions” from the Biden administration.

“When history is written, I believe that our Israeli friends will be grateful for the nudge” given to them on humanitarian aid.

Lew also said: “Now is a moment in time where there is a real possibility that by engaging with normalization negotiations with Saudi Arabia and engaging in a process of of working to reform, revamp and revitalize the Palestinian Authority, that there could be a demilitarized Palestinian state that lives side by side” with Israel, Lew said.

“If the value of having normalization” with Saudi Arabia is as important as I think it is,” it will force a conversation in Israel about this, Lew said.

Lew also addressed the concern that President Biden has been critical of Israel.

He said: …despite this extraordinary support [from Biden], I hear occasional doubts about the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security, and concerns that the United States may prevent Israel from achieving its war aims.

“Let me address that for a moment. As the President has said, Israel has the right, and indeed the responsibility to defend its nation and people. We have supported Israel’s needs as they arise and have been studious in not interfering in how Israeli prosecutes this very difficult war.

“And as close friends must, we have made our views known, both on the need to uphold shared values on the conduct of war, and the urgency of meeting humanitarian needs.

“Israel had just started to allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza when I arrived here. Many held the view that not a drop of water, not a drop of milk, and certainly not a drop of fuel should be allowed to enter.

“At a moment of national trauma in the midst of a war with a ruthless enemy, this was understandable. But it was not a policy that added to Israel’s strategic strength, and it was not a policy that reflected Israel’s core values.

Lew will always defend his democratic party masters no matter what they do, that is why he defends Obama stabbing Israel in the back on his way out yeh door with his abstention on the UNSCR even if he has to lie to do so.

You can always tell when a politician is lying, his lips are moving. Jack Lew, is no different than any other political scoundrel. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth, depending on his audience.

Stop bashing Jack Lew. He is a sincere frum Jew. Only, he is in a position to mitigate, to some extent, the terrible damage that accrues from the leftist Democrats. I think, although John Kirby is not Jewish, that he is totally pro-Israel and tries his best to influence the Biden administration in that direction. Of course, by and large, the Biden administration is full of incompetents, antisemites and morons. Thank Hashem for the few like Lew and Kirby (and probably Lloyd Austin), that prevent the brain-dead Biden from being totally influenced by the Amalekites in his circles. The bottom line, don’t publicly criticize our friends, they are forced to “posture” in order to privately do the right things.
